Hey Taylor Inc. ("Hey Taylor," "we") runs heytaylor.com and the Ask Taylor snapshot service. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We've written it in plain language on purpose.
Hey Taylor Inc., 169 Enterprise Boulevard, Suite 300, Markham, Ontario, L6G 0E7, Canada. Privacy questions: privacy@heytaylor.com — Jason Muloongo is accountable for privacy at Hey Taylor.
When you visit the site: pages viewed, approximate location (city-level, from IP), device and browser type, how you arrived, and — where you've accepted analytics — a recording of your session (clicks, scrolling, mouse movement). Form fields are masked in these recordings; we do not see what you type into them.
When you buy a snapshot: your email address, the brand website, category and market you enter, and your purchase record. Payment is handled by Stripe — we never receive or store your card details.
When you contact us: whatever you put in the form or email.
If you opt in to marketing: your email address, and a record of your consent — when you gave it, from what page, and the exact wording you agreed to.
To produce and deliver the snapshot you paid for. To run and secure the site and process payments. To understand which pages and steps work, and fix the ones that don't. To send you marketing email — only if you asked us to. And to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We never have.
We use these service providers, each of which processes some of your data on our behalf: Webflow (hosting and forms), Stripe (payments), Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and PostHog (analytics and session recording), Klaviyo (email), and SearchAtlas (the AI-search infrastructure behind the snapshot).
Where your data goes: most of these providers store and process data on servers outside Canada, primarily in the United States. That means your information may be accessible to foreign courts, law enforcement, and regulators under the laws of those countries. We list this plainly because you're entitled to know it before you decide.
When you run a snapshot, we query public AI systems about the brand, category, and market you submit, and record what those systems say. Those results — including the names of other businesses the AI mentions — are stored and may be used, in aggregate and without identifying you as the requester, to improve our methodology and research. Your identity as the person who ran a snapshot is never published.
Purchase and accounting records: seven years, per Canadian tax requirements. Snapshot runs and reports: two years, so you can request a copy or a re-run. Analytics data: fourteen months. Marketing consent records: for as long as we rely on the consent, plus three years. Contact form messages: two years.
You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time — every email has a link, and it takes effect immediately. You can ask what we hold about you and get a copy, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, ask us to delete your information (subject to records we're legally required to keep), and opt out of analytics via the cookie banner or your browser's tracking controls.
Email privacy@heytaylor.com and we'll respond within 30 days, as PIPEDA requires. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections, and access controls, and we limit who on the team can see what. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise — but we'll tell you promptly if something happens that affects you.
Our services are for businesses. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and for anything significant we'll say so on the site.
